2. I think Dale is right, and _Cold Days_ is actually _Changes_ Part II.

I think he's got to be careful that he doesn't fall into the Star Wars trap; "all the important people come from a small group"... ugh.

I was more impressed with how he managed to retcon his universe without actually contradicting himself!

Yeah, he's utterly up-ended the good/bad axis, hasn't he? And made the unsympathetic/bad somewhat sympathetic in contrast with the Outsiders.

I'm just waiting for book #15, in which we learn that the Outsiders are fleeing something that features in Cthulhu's nightmares. (Going by the escalation profile in his Romans With Magic series that's what'll happen next ....)
