I had sex before I was married. Many times. With several different people. I used birth control every single time. And I'm not sorry for any of it; this is perfectly normal behavior. [added by me] Being asexual or choosing not to have sex outside marriage is also perfectly reasonable, but less common.

[also added by me] I have had sex since I was married. Many times. With more than one person (with full knowledge and consent of all parties), although not at the same time. I used birth control every single time. And I'm not sorry for any of it; this is perfectly reasonable behavior if you happen to be wired for or open to polyamory or swinging. (I'm much closer to the poly end of the range than the swinger end, but that's just me.)

[returning to the original] Any politician who voices the slightest problem with this will not be getting my vote, my money, or my effort. Voting for someone who holds you up to public contempt is self destructive.

Bwee, I didn't even think of adding the poly angle.

Well, you know me -- I can't ever just repost one of these things without making editorial comments *grin*.

I really like your addition about asexuality. I'd even like to see it more integrated into the "that's perfectly normal behavior" idea.

I'm glad you added the bit about asexuality. I thought about putting it in mine, but was worried it might dilute the short, pithy, nature of what I had to say, and hoped many people would have to say.

I do, however, believe that asexuality, and polyamory are part of the normal human sexuality scale, and do not believe you *must* have sex (or be monogamous) to be normal.

And thank you for passing on the meme.

Thank you. I really like this.
However, while agreeing with all of it in principle, I can't say that I won't vote for a politician who voices problems with any of it. Specifically, I will likely find it necessary to vote for politicians who object to polyamory, in order to do my part in preventing the election of someone much worse.

(I can't think of any politicians who would publicly support polyamory. We have a long, long way to go on that.)

True enough. Even a pol who personally takes a none-of-my-business attitude toward it probably isn't going to say so in public.
