I just got a call from my sister-in-law. My brother is in the hospital; he was admitted this morning with pain in his torso and blood pressure that hit 220 systolic and 130 diastolic (although maybe not both at the same time).
If I understood correctly, they think they've ruled out cardiac, and they think they've ruled out kidney, but they're not sure, so he's in Special Care until they figure it out.
Please keep him in your thoughts, prayers, or prayer-analogs.
Why the hell didn't I call him last night when I was thinking of him? Excuse: Because I'm not sure of his work and sleep schedule, and didn't want to wake him up.

From the briefest perusal of my friends list, it would appear that 2012 is well and truly fired, and it's hardly March yet.

Don't go down this path. I'll bet you think of him at some point most evenings, but you only remember it because of what's happened. Thinking too much about this will make you crazy. Trust me, I'm battling that thought pattern myself and have been for almost a month.
But of course, yes, I will keep him (and you) in my thoughts. xXx

You didn't call because you were being considerate. It's happenstance. Don't worry about it.
