"The correct response to the Irish greeting, 'Top of the morning to you' is, 'And the rest of the day to yourself.'"
If this is true, it is delightful; if it is not true, it is still delightful but false.
Anyone who has lived or traveled in Ireland care to weigh in on this?

Um...how to say this delicately...
We never use it.
If you were to use it with us as a greeting, the best reaction you could hope for is an incredulous stare.
Sorry!
Re: Um...how to say this delicately...
So what is an appropriate greeting? "Hi," "Hello," "Good morning (afternoon, evening)"?
All those and
Howrya?
So, what's the crack? (crack != crack cocaine)
Story? (pronounced "shtory" and really only can be carried off if you're a bit of a scanger. Scanger is a low social class who wear tracksuits and hoodies, have close haircuts and gelled fringes and look a bit shifty.)
