Okay, my morning kind of sucked. Not horribly, just a handful of niggling annoying things where people did stuff I'd asked them not to do in ways that were likely to make either more work or minor trouble for me. Most everything has been resolved, there have been no major disasters and only one outbreak of temper (not mine), and my day looks to end wonderfully this evening.
Nothing was serious enough to dump me into a depression, or even to make me seriously doubt myself (note the phrasing, "my morning kind of sucked" as opposed to "I suck").
However, it would not do me any harm to hear some good things.
So: I invite comments:
1. A reason you like me.
2. Or, a reason you read my journal.
3. Or, something good that's happened to you recently.
4. Or, something good that's happening in the world.
5. Or, something pleasantly distracting (e.g., fun websites).
6. Or, anything at all that you find amusing and cheering.
For my part, a maxim I shared with a friend last night: "Ray's Rule of Precision: Measure with a micrometer. Mark with chalk. Cut with an axe."
Also, Tom Smith's "I Had a Shoggoth," interpreted in ASL by the incredible Judi Miller.

Reason I like you: Because you are determined and purposeful, always strive to improve your life and those around you, and talk common sense where it is desperately needed.
Reason I read your journal: see 1
Something good that happened to me recently: Solved a problem bugging me at work.

And yay for solving the work problem! That's always a good thing.

because you are so lovely and complex and intelligent and I can relate to you on more than one level. (giggle pot and whacking)
2. Or, a reason you read my journal.
Its interesting.
3. Or, something good that's happened to you recently.
I GRADUATED (well 2 months ago but I am still using it to get through the bad days)
4. Or, something good that's happening in the world.
The rotary club I am apart of raised 24000 dollars for interplast on the weekend through a fundrasing dinner and auction.
5. Or, something pleasantly distracting (e.g., fun websites).
Boobies! (well I find em plesantly distracting for some reason)
6. Or, anything at all that you find amusing and cheering.
I am doing a pole dancing class - I am a klutz who gets her left and right mixed up on a regular basis. I will leave you to imagine the outcome.

Best of luck with the dance class!

2. you always have interesting things to say and share
something happened
I like how you write and how you try so hard to behave correctly - you tend to worry too much but at least that is erring on the side of caution ( whereas people who worry too little about behaviour and politeness are 10ct a gross)

1&2) For all the years I have known you (and oh my, it has been some time!), I have admired your frankness about so many things. You write so vividly about your experiences that I sometimes feel as if I've had an entirely different life experience through your words.
3) This I shall PM.

Speaking of songs with ASL, I remember seeing this song performed live:

with an ASL interpreter who was, apparently hearing it for the first time, poor lass.

2: Besides the above, I like that you are open about your depression. It is good for the rest of us to know we're not alone.
3: I got an anonymous donation of $1K for the suicide prevention walk I am doing in June.

2. You post useful information.
3. I found out my cholesterol medication is responsible for my morning leg cramps and they should end in a few days. The cholesterol will be checked in a few months.
6. I am having lunch with my pet librarian.
