So Dale went back to work on January 15, which means he's worked two, almost three weeks.

His knee has been hurting pretty consistently since he went back, swelling and aching, but the swelling tends to go down once he gets home and ices the knee. This week, though, although he says the area of pain is smaller, the intensity has been higher.

This morning he called and said, "My knee is hurting through a hydrocodone; I'm leaving work and going to the doctor." He has an appointment for 11:30 tomorrow; your Good Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck. Knee trouble is one of the most annoying and painful things to deal with.

!!! I don't even want to think of how bad pain would have to be to hurt through a hydrocodone. Good luck.

He's -- stubborn. Not as stubborn as his dad, who toughed it out for five years after being told to get a knee replacement before finally getting the surgery, but stubborn.

"My knee is hurting through a hydrocodone", dear god!
How is he able to walk?

Good thoughts for you both.

How is he able to walk?

Slowly, and wincing throughout. At least he's not as stubborn as his dad (see previous comment).

Thanks. Also, I got the lovely package of alternative sugar you sent me, and will be trying it soon. I'm thinking about putting it in coffee, with cinnamon and cream.

*beams* You're totally welcome -- it was Tigerbright's idea to send it to you, I just facilitated it.
