Henotheistic: believing in one supreme deity and regarding other gods and goddesses as aspects, forms, or manifestations of the One God. Hinduism is either a henotheistic religion or a polytheistic one, depending on who you ask. Or a monotheistic one (one Supreme Entity, Brahman). Or a trinitarian one (Brahma the creator, Vishnu the protector, Shiva the destroyer).

I've been wearing that Pentacle / Star of David pendant for a few years now. When I needed a new icon for "religion," I went to the Honeck Sculpture (http://www.honecksculptures.com/catalog/) and grabbed the pic.

I'd always heard it used in this sense: "the worship of one deity (of several) as the special god of one's family, clan, or tribe." I've heard Judaism described as a henotheistic religion because there was a special covenant between God and the Hebrews--he was a "clan/tribe" god.
