He's not doing well. They've taken him off the ventilator a couple of times with no success (ends up back on the ventilator after 24-48 hours). He's now been moved from ICU to CCU because of a severe infection (type and origin unspecified). He's now drifting in and out of consciousness, rather than being conscious and lucid most of the time. Dale said something about "they're thinking about taking him off support and seeing how he does" (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me if he's already failed being weaned off the ventilator a couple of times, but then again, I'm getting this at least third-hand).

Continued prayers, equivalents, and analogs for the best possible outcome are appreciated. hedwig5221, if you want to visit him in the hospital, now would be a good time.
